Broughton Construction has sponsored the 12U “Bolts Travel Team” for 2010 softball season. 
They are out of the Littlestown, PA, which is on the Maryland line.  The sponsorship supports the purchase of uniforms, equipment and maintenance of the home fields.   The league is a non-profit, self supporting organization that relies on sponsors, fund raising and donations.

Saturday, April 21th, 2010, Broughton Construction receives award for recognition as the “Title Sponsor” of the 2010 John Eaton Elementary School Auction held at the Shakespeare Theater in Washington, DC.
The Auction raises money to support the school’s arts program. Award was presented by Councilmember Kwame R Brown. The Host of the event was News 4 anchor Jim Vance.

                                     
Broughton Construction is proud to have participated in the construction of Washington, DC’s new Deanwood Recreation Center & Library. 
On June 25th, 2010, Mayor Adrian Fenty cuts the ribbon at the grand opening of this state-of-the-art $32 million, 63,000 square foot facility.  The recreation center boasts a leisure swimming pool complete with the District's first ever water slide, locker rooms, a gymnasium, a full service kitchen, a game room, a senior services area, a music studio, a fitness center, multi-purpose rooms, and a 7,500 square foot library with 20 computers, space for children's activities, space for teens to study and capacity for 25,000 books. The facility is also LEED Silver certified.

Broughton Construction is proud to have participated in the construction of Washington, DC’s first new library in 20 years. 
On April 5th, 2010, Mayor Adrian Fenty cuts the ribbon at the grand opening party of this state-of-the-art facility at 3935 Benning Rd. N.E. The new two-story library is approximately 22,000 square feet and features a flexible design to provide inviting spaces for all. It will include 40,000 books, DVDs, CDs, and other library materials, separate reading areas for adults, teens and children, 32 public access computers with free Wi-Fi Internet access, and comfortable seating for 200 customers.  The library has many “green” features and is seeking LEED certification.

Broughton Participates in Job Fair for Green Pathways Program
By Goodwill of Greater Washington and the Green Builders Council, DC. The Green Pathways Program teaches construction skills such as blueprint reading, OSHA safety certification, and Green Advantage.
